You might soon be able to post voice statuses on WhatsApp
The popularity of WhatsApp’s version of Stories among users is debatable. You can use the tool to upload a picture, a video, or a message that will disappear after 24 hours. A future upgrade to this functionality might include Voice Statuses. Here is the main point of this.
Coming Soon: WhatsApp Voice Status
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp may soon roll out Voice Status, which will essentially let you publish audio as a Status. This was previously noted on WhatsApp beta for Android as well as the iOS version of the messaging app owned by Meta.
A voice note shared a Status is visible in a screenshot. The microphone icon in the lower right corner of this Voice Status serves as a visual cue that it is a Voice Status rather than a standard one. You can have a look at it to get a better idea.
You will be able to publish an audio note that lasts up to 30 seconds along with a text, according to the source. The Voice Statuses will be revealed to those you select in accordance with your privacy preferences and be end-to-end encrypted.
Recall that WhatsApp is also trialling the ability to link status previews. There is no information available on when Voice Status and link previews will become available to users while it is still in development. Additionally, we don’t know when this will be accessible to everyone. Watch this space for more details as they become available.
